    Commissioned by NASA for the centennial celebration of the Wright brothers' first flight. It was written by Tena R. Clark, and performed by Patti LaBelle for the Columbia memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on February 6.

Florida Space Shuttle Quarter
Florida Quarter Design Florida Quarter Design 50 State Quarters Program

As part of the 50 State Quarters Program, Florida has selected for its quarter a depiction of the space shuttle that bears the inscription "Gateway to Discovery." The quarter was chosen among five finalists, including one other design that also featured the shuttle. The finalists were selected by a state committee before the Columbia disaster, and the winning design was chosen in an online vote that ended March 5.
